The consortium intends to contribute to CMIP7 with EC-Earth4. For the Fast Track, a model configuration with dynamic vegetation and interactive aerosols will be used. The model will have components to simulate the carbon cycle.

The EC-Earth Consortium will participate to CMIP7-FT as well with the EC-Earth3-ESM-1-1 configuration. This configuration is close to the EC-Earth3-ESM-1 configuration which has been extensively used for the OptimESM and CMIP6Plus project.
